“Fascia is the organ of posture. Nobody ever says this;
all the talk is about muscles.”
Dr. Ida P. Rolf
The Rolf Method of Structural Integration is a specialized manual therapy that addresses the problems of the body's structure versus symptom treatment. The process manipulates the connective tissue called fascia in our bodies, allowing our alignment to come to vertical. Your acute and chronic pain and discomfort will fade away as a result of your structure being aligned to vertical.
The Structural Integration sessions are a collaborative process between the therapist and the client. The process is painless and the client is required to participate with small movements in coordination with the therapists work. These small painless neurological movements reset and calm the nervous system and result in more change in the body versus the work without movement. Once you are structurally integrated, you will have the opportunity to use your body the way it was designed to be used. The majority of clients report movement with less effort and pain and an overall feeling of lightness. The work from the sessions takes 6-12 months to fully integrate in the body and simple homeworks provided at the end of your sessions help the body continue to integrate.
